Microdosing stations are an essential tool for achieving more precise, efficient, and safe industrial processes.
They allow for the dosing of very small amounts of solid or liquid ingredients with high precision — even down to the gram range.
This ensures the quality of the final product and helps meet regulatory standards, while also reducing material waste and improving overall process efficiency.
At Gashor, we have spent over 60 years listening to and solving our clients’ challenges, developing tailored solutions for highly demanding sectors such as food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals.
Two main types of stations
Microdosing stations can be divided into two major groups based on their level of automation:
1. Fully automatic systems
These systems are designed to be fully integrated into production lines.
They load ingredients pneumatically (from Big Bags or sack unloaders, bag dump stations, or other containers), use screw conveyors or vibrating trays for discharge, and transport the recipes directly to the point of consumption.
They typically handle up to 6 containers and are ideal for high-volume production where precision, traceability, and efficiency are critical. Depending on the design, they can also manage up to 16 containers.
In some cases, the recipes are discharged into a container that is then handled manually. This makes these systems an excellent option for smaller batches, artisanal processes, or lines that require a high degree of flexibility — for example, when dealing with a wide variety of ingredients or changing recipes frequently.
2. Manual systems
In these systems, loading is done manually, and the discharge may combine various technologies such as vibration, gravity, or screw conveyors.
They can handle up to 16 containers, depending on the design, and recipes are usually discharged into a container for manual handling.
These systems are ideal for smaller batches, artisanal processes, or production lines that require high flexibility.

Challenges solved by Gashor’s microdosing stations
Many companies face challenges related to precision, safety, and traceability. Gashor’s microdosing stations are designed specifically to address these issues:
- Lack of precision: At Gashor, we offer tolerances as precise as ± 1 gram.
- Ingredient waste: Our automatic systems reduce losses and improve material utilization.
- Limited traceability: Integration with control software to record each dosing operation.
- Operator safety risks: Ergonomic design and compliance with industrial safety standards.
- Slow or inefficient processes: Automation of repetitive tasks saves time and reduces errors.
- Recipe confidentiality: Since operators do not handle each ingredient directly, the privacy and security of your formulas are protected.
- Human error in dosing: We eliminate the possibility of manual dosing mistakes, ensuring consistent and accurate dosing every time.
Real-life applications in the industry
In the food industry, for example, we have developed solutions for dosing salts and seasonings in snack production.
In cosmetics, our stations allow for precise dosing of expensive ingredients like fragrances or active agents.
These implementations, which are also applicable to other industrial sectors, improve final product quality, ensure traceability, and boost profitability.
When is it time to invest in automation?
Deciding whether to maintain a manual process or invest in automation is a common dilemma for production managers in the industries we work with.
However, several factors clearly indicate when it’s time to switch to an automatic station:
- You work with variable recipes that require frequent changes.
- You produce large volumes and need to scale up without errors.
- You use sensitive or high-cost ingredients that require absolute precision.
If any of these factors apply to your process, it’s a clear sign that the time to upgrade is now.
And at Gashor, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
